About the business... Barbed established in Spring 2005 in Barnes, South West London, to encourage the use of the garden, terrace or balcony as an integral part of the living space, showing that the garden can deliver contemporary, stylish and quality design. The items on show can enhance any outdoor space whether it is a contemporary surprise found deep in the beds of plants-mans' paradise or the main focal point of a minimalist's urban retreat. Barbed presents a selection of high quality furniture, sculpture, art and accessories balanced with antique and vintage items for the garden and will have an ongoing exhibition programme throughout the year. Although predominantly a retail business, Barbed has been expanding into other market sectors namely the Contract Market and the Hotel and Leisure industry and are very comfortable working with architects, designers and specifyers in a professional and timely manner. Barbed offer a wide range of furniture and artwork, iconic designs and are always looking for different designers and artists producing work which is stylish and unusual.

& the people Barbed is run by Annie and Graham Sterry whose passion for modern design for both interiors and exteriors led them away from a more comfortable mainstream life to risk setting up a business together promoting contemporary design for the garden.
